Mistake 1: Applying to cold plastics
Below 18°C, the vinyl won't adhere properly. Apply it in a heated garage or in direct sunlight.
Mistake 2: Skipping the degreasing
Wipe all plastics with isopropyl alcohol before application. This isn't optional.
Mistake 3: Pulling the vinyl
Vinyl doesn't stretch to compensate for poor alignment. Remove, reposition, then smooth it down.
Mistake 4: Using a hard squeegee
A felt squeegee prevents micro-scratches on glossy vinyl.
