How to Apply a Graphic Kit

Fitting a Kutvek graphic kit is straightforward when you take your time and prepare properly. Our kits are made of pre-cut, high-tack vinyl designed to follow the shape of your fairings, so a clean, methodical application gives a factory-quality finish that lasts for seasons.

What you will need

Isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth
A felt-edged squeegee (supplied with most kits)
A heat gun or hair dryer
A soft cloth and, ideally, a helper for large panels

Before you start

Work in a heated, dust-free room (at least 65°F / 18°C): vinyl becomes flexible and adheres far better when it is warm. Remove the panels you are covering — fenders, shrouds, fork guards, swingarm — whenever possible, and degrease every surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol. Any grease, silicone or dust left behind will cause lifting later.

Step-by-step application

Dry-fit first. Position each decal on its panel without removing the backing, and mark the alignment with light reference points.
Peel and place. Peel back a few centimetres of the backing, set the top edge in place, then release the rest of the backing progressively.
Squeegee from the centre outward. Push out air with firm, overlapping strokes, always working from the middle toward the edges.
Add heat on curves. Warm complex areas (edges, double curves, air scoops) with the heat gun so the vinyl conforms without stretching, and press it firmly into every recess.
Trim and seal the edges. Fold the vinyl around edges while warm and run the squeegee along each border so nothing can catch.
Let it cure. Leave the kit to bond for 24 hours before washing or riding.

Tips & troubleshooting

If a small bubble appears, lift the vinyl gently with the corner of the squeegee and re-lay it — never pierce it. For a stubborn crease, warm the area and peel the piece back rather than forcing it. Take your time on the first panel: once you have the feel for it, the rest goes quickly.
